Language immersion is an integral part of volunteering with GVI. We believe that being able to speak the local language is essential to getting the most out of your experience abroad.Â
Whether you are volunteering on critical community development projects or joining one of our teaching programs, having a basic understanding of the local language allows you to make a deeper connection with the culture and community you are living and working in.Â
While all our programs offer an introduction to the local language to help you get around, in Costa Rica we offer Spanish language immersion courses as additions to our community development volunteer or internship projects. Depending on the duration of your project, the course will consist of 20, 40, or 80 hours of lessons with a native Spanish speaker.
Develop practical research, collaboration and leadership skills while enhancing your knowledge of the global sustainable development sector.
Immerse yourself in wonderful and diverse global cultures while working in breathtaking remote locations.
GVI Foundation Grants are now available for community development programs abroad. Up to GBPÂ 5,000 based on your motivation and circumstances. Apply by 31 Oct.
