Help foster greater health and well-being in the communities of Pokhara and surrounding areas. Work directly with individuals in local Nepali communities to promote healthy lifestyles and gain experience in public health.
Volunteers work with local staff and students to facilitate workshops concerning a range of health-related topics. This includes teaching the principles of UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program, basic first aid skills, road safety, puberty and menstruation, and vocabulary related to other broad health topics.
Participants on this also facilitate interactive workshops based on the needs of the local communities at the time. Topics covered in these workshops include self care, disease awareness and prevention, and Emergency First Aid. You will have the opportunity to work in school classrooms and community settings.
